Reducing labelling costs and risks

With the intention of saving money, and to consolidate their label printing, ALK-Abelló has implemented a new label-handling workflow. Since 2004, ALK-Abelló has used Prevas’ Snitcher Medical as its sole label handling system. The system takes care of label design, label contents, label versions, label printing, audit trail and ER/ES.

The labelling system is connected to ALK-Abelló’s business system for order-driven production. In addition to complete control over label changes, the company now benefits from only having to print the exact number of labels required, without throwing away pre-printed labels. The result is that the production process – from design to print – has been significantly reduced.

Prevas was heavily involved in the implementation of the system, helping out with URS, IQ and OQ, according to GAMP. The process from initial pre-study to system start-up was managed by a dedicated Prevas project manager.
