Skan AG, founded in 1968 and located in Allschwil near Basel, Switzerland, is
one of the leading companies for clean room equipment, isolation technology
and RABS for sterile/aseptic, toxic and highly active product applications
for liquid and solid forms for the pharmaceutical and chemical industry.

Innovative products, customer-designed solutions from pre-engineering to
calibration, qualification and validation, as well as a powerful service
organisation, has established Skan as a worldwide market leader and an
important partner within research laboratories and the industry.

The manufacturing of Skan-designed products is completed by trade products.
The trade segment consists of a broad range of products needed to cover the
activities in clean room technology, contamination control as well as in
laboratories (for example, fume hoods).

Since 1977, Skan has built up a wide and deep knowledge in the barrier and
isolation technology. The objective was from the beginning not only to
deliver a barrier or isolator to the customer, but to deliver more fully
integrated systems. To realise this, Skan has made significant investments in
its own development activities and scientific work together with other
companies and universities in different countries.

Customer services

Based on customer demands, Skan has developed a fully integrated
decontamination system with hydrogen peroxide for all type of isolators. To
offer the customer a full service, cycle development and standardisation of
bio indicators based on Skan development, special material tests in the
standard isolator and the in-house microbiological laboratory can be offered.

To round up the realisation and delivery of fully integrated systems, Skan
has built up special teams for installation and start-up activities,
qualifications (IQ/OQ), requalification, maintenance and service.

Skan's technical knowledge is based on a long and profound experience in
isolation technology. The engineers are supported by specialists in
pharmaceutical technology, biology, microbiology and analytical work, the
basis for optimal customer solutions.

The Skan quality system is based on ISO 9001 approval since 1994. All
projects are developed within GMP procedures, approved through different
customer audits and executed by pharmaceutical companies.
