Qatar Airways Cargo's young and modern freighter fleet consists of two B747-8, 13 Boeing 777 and eight Airbus A330 freighters that operate on both scheduled routes and non-scheduled (charter) operations. The carrier also transports cargo on the belly-hold of more than 200 aircraft to a network of more than 150 destinations. Two additional Boeing 777 freighters will join the airline's fleet this year. The airline also placed an order for five 777 Freighters at the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow.

The cargo handling facility at Hamad International Airport sets new standards of service and quality not only in the Gulf region, but worldwide. Capable of handling 5,700 shipments and up to 1.4 million tonnes of cargo annually, the fully-automated and air conditioned warehouse is ideally located, enabling the seamless and efficient services to customers and cargo carriers around the world. The state-of-the-art Cargo Warehouse Information System (CWIS) can track the location of each cargo precisely and efficiently. The warehouse is equipped with special handling and storage areas for pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods and valuables.
Additionally, the two new facilities, Climate Control Centre and Cargo Overflow Warehouse at the hub in Doha are significant additions that support the rapid growth of temperature-controlled cargo and ecommerce freight, offering up to 550,000 tons annual handling capacity.
In line with the carrier's ambitious expansion and growth strategy, construction of the second cargo terminal (CT2) is underway. This new facility is designed to cope with future growth and upon completion of CT2, the combined cargo capacity of both terminals will increase to 4.6 million tons annually.
As an industry leader, Qatar Airways Cargo offers the fastest global aircraft transfer at Doha through its Quick Ramp Transfer (QRT) solution for all transshipments. It is the only carrier in the Middle East to offer refrigerated or reefer truck services for ramp transfers at its home hub. Temperature-sensitive commodities are collected from and delivered directly to the aircraft by specialised temperature-controlled vehicles or refrigerated trucks, ensuring the cool-chain process is seamless.
