Temperature development
Cryo Store did a survey of
its clients and found that
many were transporting their
goods in the wrong storage
boxes: they were sending out
shipping boxes, mainly those
for goods being transported
at 2–8°, with the wrong
load-out. Cryo Store then
developed and tested custom
made shipping boxes for their
client-specific products.
In the climate chamber,
different winter and summer
profiles were simulated.
With a temperature
accuracy of 0.1°C for every
60 seconds, a record gives a
clear view of the behaviour
inside the packaging.
Shipping boxes
Through the years Cryo Store
has gathered a lot of
experience in finding the
right shipping box. The
company’s shipping solution
works, not only with
temperature behaviour, but
also from an efficiency point
of view. There are a lot of
complex solutions, but
Cryo Store likes to keep
its system as simple and
user friendly as possible.
For large quantities, the basic
are EPS boxes, but for small
quantities Cryo Store
produces its TCP boxes. These
are made from two pieces, can
be stored flat and made in
almost all dimensions; for
example, there is a 430l pallet
shipper or a 1.6l box. Wall
thickness varies from 2-7cm
depending on the size of the
box and duration of shipping.
The insulation is comparable
with or even better than EPS
and is shock absorbent.
