for conventional GMS systems and talc. It is a
20%
aqueous dispersion that contains the anti-tacking
agent glycerol monostearate (GMS, mono- and
diglycerides NF), the plasticiser triethyl citrate
and
the emulsifier polysorbate 80. All the raw materials
in this coating system are of pharmacopoeial quality.
One additive, numerous benefits
In terms of production costs and processing time,
this
type of coating allows Evonik’s customers
to achieve
better results than with their regular GMS or
talc systems.
Faster preparation times are achieved because
with
PlasACRYL T20, processes such as homogenisation,
heating and cooling down can be skipped and the
number
of weighing steps can be decreased.
Depending on the formulation, the duration of
the
coating process can be reduced considerably. In
addition,
this additive eliminates the tackiness of acrylic
materials
and prevents the clogging of lines and nozzles.
Furthermore, the spray suspension does not settle
or
separate, so constant stirring is not required.
These factors lead to lower production costs
as a result
of lower energy consumption and fewer process
steps and
batch failures.
The product is compatible with all EUDRAGIT grades
and is most frequently used with EUDRAGIT L 30
D-55 for
enteric coatings and with EUDRAGIT FS 30 D for
colonic
