Chemspec Europe 2023: a record-breaking edition reconfirms the importance of the event for the international fine and speciality chemicals industry

18 May 2023

Next week, from 24 - 25 May, Chemspec Europe 2023 will open its doors at Messe Basel, Switzerland, to offer a unique marketplace for product sourcing, whilst connecting industry experts worldwide and providing valuable updates on trends and regulations via an extensive conference programme. With a highly specialised exhibition profile, the 36th International Exhibition for Fine and Speciality Chemicals is the meeting point for buyers, traders, and agents searching for bespoke, new approaches and innovative substances.

The event will cover more than 6,600 m2 of net exhibition space and welcome around 350 exhibitors from 24 countries. As a result, Chemspec Europe 2023 is on track for a record-breaking edition, surpassing 2019’s event size. Representing international organisations mainly from Germany, India, the USA, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Belgium, exhibitors will present an excellent cross-section of fine and speciality chemicals for various applications and industries, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, polymers, food and feed ingredients, flavours and fragrances, pigments and dyes, paints and coatings, household and cleaning chemicals, adhesives and sealants, leather and textile chemicals, electronics and many more. The exhibitor list includes Albemarle, CABB AG, Dottikon Exclusive Synthesis AG, ESIM Chemicals, ICL Europe Coöperatief U.A., IMCD, IVICT Europe GmbH / Mitsubishi Corporation, Robinson Brothers Ltd, Saltigo GmbH, SOCMA, WeylChem and many others. For the complete list of suppliers at the show, please view the Exhibitor List.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be back here in Basel with such promising numbers, which predict to bring the show back to pre-pandemic levels and underline once again its unique position as the premier specialised trading and networking event for the fine and speciality chemicals industry in Europe”, comments Christiane Beck, Chemspec Europe Event Manager and on behalf of RX, the organiser of the event. “Due to expectations set by the European Green Deal, the chemical industry in Europe is facing major challenges and huge investments are necessary to realise a climate transition to sustainable chemicals whilst adapting to changing legislative measures and a circular economy by 2050. Chemspec Europe provides the ideal marketplace to allow the exchange of knowledge within the international fine and speciality chemicals community on topics relevant to the industry in this rapidly changing context”.
