Global opportunity to reduce antibiotic waste
As leaders gather for the International Ministerial Conference on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), hosted by the government of The Netherlands and organised in close cooperation with the FAO, OIE and WHO, experts and responsible manufacturers are calling for a ‘One Health’ approach to AMR and recognition of the impact of antibiotic production on the environment.

Sanofi and Google collaborate to set up healthcare innovation lab
Sanofi and Google are set to establish a virtual innovation lab to tap emerging data technologies as part of a new project. Both companies will use digital technologies to better understand key diseases and extract related patient insights, allowing Sanofi to develop more personalised treatments.

In April of this year, a landmark public private partnership called ConcePTION, jointly led by Novartis and the University Medical Center Utrecht, was awarded a five-year grant by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI2) to tackle many of the research gaps related to medicine used by pregnant and breastfeeding women.
