Quotient Bioresearch - A unique drug development partner

Focused on science, technology and people, Quotient Bioresearch is dedicated to providing the best service and high quality data to help its clients make the right decisions.

Combining the expertise of the well established laboratories BioDynamics, GR Micro and HFL Limited, Quotient Bioresearch provides services spanning discovery through to post-market surveillance. This unique heritage and approach makes the company the only drug development partner that provides:

  • fully integrated discovery and regulatory DMPK combined with a large GMP radiosynthesis capability
  • innovative bioanalytical science with expertise in small molecule and biological drugs and biomarkers from the world's leading sports drug surveillance laboratory
  • comprehensive microbiology services with more than 25 years experience in the discovery and development of anti-infectives.

The UK-based Quotient Bioresearch has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in Fordham (Cambridgeshire), London and Rushden (Northamptonshire), each with specialised technology and focus, bonded with a shared passion for science, excellent service and - above all - people.

Bioanalysis and central laboratory

The Quotient Bioresearch site at Fordham is the only laboratory involved in sports drug surveillance and contract research. This has enabled the development of a broad, innovative bioanalytical sciences group with an ability to integrate bioanalysis (small molecules and biologicals) with biomarker and central laboratory capabilities.

Founded over 40 years ago, the company's scientists have developed unrivalled experience and a reputation for solving complex analytical problems. The need to devise novel methods of analysis to detect a broad range of drugs that have been abused in sport has provided a unique opportunity for this knowledge to be used in Quotient Bioresearch's drug development activities. Recent innovations to the firm's biological service portfolio include:

  • MSD™ multiplexing service for the detection of biomarkers and other biological analytes in single and multiplex formats
  • BioMS™ (biological mass spectrometry) for the quantification of proteins
  • Gyrolab™ technology platform for rapid, high-sensitivity quantification of biomarkers, biological drugs and immunogenicity.

Metabolism and chemistry

The Rushden laboratories provide a combination of radiosynthesis with invitro and invivo metabolism and bioanalysis facilitating the provision of comprehensive metabolism programmes. From early discovery support through to first time in man, Quotient Bioresearch's experienced team can provide a complete picture of the pharmacokinetics and metabolic fate of new biological and chemical entities in most pre-clinical species and man.

Microbiology

A combination of the world-class microbiology expertise from Quotient Bioresearch's laboratories in London, combined with a strong molecular biology capability, provides a comprehensive service for the discovery and development of anti-infectives.

Soon to be relocated to new purpose-built, Category 3 facilities at the Fordham site, Quotient Bioresearch looks forward to growth in its business relationships across the industry from small biotech to large pharma.

Non-laboratory services

Quotient Bioresearch has a dedicated logistics team that provides a comprehensive range of bespoke sample management services to meet individual client needs. Building on 40 years' experience of assembling customised collection kits and managing global sample logistics, Quotient Bioresearch focuses on delivering a quality service on time, every time.
