Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Thursday 12th November 2020 – Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was named Best Airport – Europe 2020 at the Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards in Hong Kong Monday night.

Over 15,000 readers of Asia Cargo News, organisers of the event, voted for their favourite companies based on a shortlist of four for each category.

“The cargo team is honoured to have been recognised in this way during what has been a difficult time for everyone,” said Bart Pouwels – Head of Cargo.

“Asia has always been an important market for us, and especially now during the COVID-19 situation we are seeing an uptick in Asian carriers often carrying vital PPE equipment.

“We are committed to keep supporting the supply chain in the best way we can to meet the challenges of the coming months.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us, and a special thank you to our cargo community who have been working around the clock to handle all the extra challenges COVID-19 has brought along.”

The AFLAS Awards

AFLAS winners were announced at a gala dinner, one of the first awards gatherings since the pandemic, on Monday evening in Hong Kong.

Leading companies in the cargo, logistics, and supply chain sectors took home awards in 47 categories.

The winners were selected from an initial nomination stage, followed by the announcement of a shortlist and a voting stage for readers of Asia Cargo News.
